Boeing says 787 testing going well
Boeing Co. is putting its new 787 through an aggressive flight-testing schedule, with the fourth plane set to begin test flights on Sunday. Boeing is aiming to deliver the plane to its first customer by the end of this year. By midyear it is aiming to fly six planes a total of 90 hours per week, Jim Albaugh, chief executive of Boeing's commercial airplane division, told analysts on Tuesday.
Ex-auto magnate Hecker faces more charges
The criminal case against Minnesota former auto magnate Denny Hecker has gotten broader in scope. A federal grand jury indicted the 57-year-old Hecker on Tuesday with eight additional counts of wire fraud and 10 counts of bankruptcy fraud. The new charges are added to an existing indictment that accuses Hecker of conspiracy to defraud lenders and others out of millions of dollars.
Vikes' KWilliams takes stand in suit vs NFL
Minnesota Vikings All-Pro defensive tackle Kevin Williams testified Tuesday that he was under pressure to lose weight and earn a $400,000 bonus when he took a weight-loss supplement two years ago - a supplement he didn't know contained a substance banned by the NFL. The testimony was the first from a player in the closely watched trial deciding whether the NFL's use of its anti-doping policy broke Minnesota labor law.
Vikings sign kickoff specialist Rhys Lloyd
The Minnesota Vikings have signed kickoff specialist Rhys Lloyd to a two-year contract. The deal was announced by the Vikings on Tuesday. It includes a signing bonus, but agent Frank Murtha declined to specify the amount.
$1B Minn. construction bill has Pawlenty items
A revamped $1 billion construction projects bill would give Gov. Tim Pawlenty a little more than half the amount he sought to expand a sex offender treatment facility. The bill posted Tuesday earmarks $47.5 million for the complex in Moose Lake. The Republican governor wanted $89 million.
Minn. jurors now question verdict in Toyota crash
At least two Ramsey County jurors say reports of sudden acceleration in Toyota Camrys has them wondering if they sent an innocent man to prison three years ago. Juror Danny Buechler of St. Paul told the St. Paul Pioneer Press for a story in Tuesday editions that he's having second thoughts about the case of Koua Fong Lee, 32.
Police believe man fell to death at MOA
The body of a man has been found near a parking ramp at the Mall of America, and authorities say they believe he fell to his death. Bloomington police say the body was found near the west ramp Monday night.
Twins closer Nathan has ligament tear in elbow
The Minnesota Twins suddenly have a glaring concern about closing games for the first time since Joe Nathan took over in 2004. Tests on Nathan's right throwing elbow have revealed a significant tear in the ulnar collateral ligament, an injury that could require season-ending Tommy John surgery. Nathan's 246 saves over six seasons are the most in the majors during that span.

The medical overseer of the NFL's anti-steroid policy says other players tested positive for banned diuretics before two Minnesota Vikings in 2008 - but they were not punished. Dr. John Lombardo testified Tuesday that more than six players tested positive for diuretics from 2005 to late 2007. He says none was punished.

The medical overseer of the NFL's anti-steroid policy is testifying that other players tested positive for banned diuretics before two Minnesota Vikings in 2008, but weren't punished. However, the league tried to suspend Pat Williams and Kevin Williams after they tested positive for bumetanide, which can be used to mask steroid use although there's no allegation the Williamses were using steroids.
