Update: Suspicious Death in Silver Spring Ruled a Homicide
Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Major Crimes Division – Homicide/Sex Section are continuing to investigate the death of an adult male who was found yesterday afternoon in a wooded area near the ramp from eastbound Interstate 495 to southbound New Hampshire Avenue in the Hillandale area of Silver Spring.
The preliminary results from an autopsy conducted by the Medical Examiner’s Office in Baltimore determined the manner of death to be homicide and the cause of death was multiple injuries. The victim has just been identified, but his identity will not be released until family members have been notified.
It was approximately 1:54 p.m. on Monday, March 15, that 3rd District officers received a call for a suspicious situation. Police Investigate Suspicious Death in Silver Spring
Detectives from Montgomery County Police Major Crimes Division – Homicide/ Sex Section are investigating the death of an unknown adult male who was found this afternoon in a wooded area near the ramp from eastbound Interstate 495 to southbound New Hampshire Avenue in the Hillandale area of Silver Spring.
At approximately 1:54 p.m. today, 3rd District officers received a call for a suspicious situation. Officers located an unresponsive adult male in the wooded area near the ramp of eastbound Interstate 495. He was pronounced dead at the scene. He did not have identification on him.
The victim is described as a Hispanic male, in his 30’s or early 40’s, black hair, with a mustache. He was wearing a blue flannel shirt and khaki pants.
The circumstances that led to his death are still under investigation. The cause and manner of death will be determined after a completion of an autopsy by the Medical Examiner’s office in Baltimore. ...more
Update :Death of Woman Found in Park Ruled a Homicide
Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Major Crimes Division – Homicide/Sex Section continue to investigate the discovery of a female body that was found Saturday, March 6, 2010, in the Patuxent River State Park in upper Montgomery County, outside of Damascus. The female was identified, and as this investigation progresses, the death is now being investigated as a homicide.
The victim was identified as Tannessa Victoria Taylor, age 19, from an unconfirmed address. The identification was made by fingerprints. The results of the autopsy determined the cause of death resulted from trauma to the body and the manner of death is homicide. The date and location of her death remain under investigation. However, the latest date that investigators can presently confirm that Taylor was seen alive is December 31, 2009.

M & T Bank Robbery in Silver Spring
Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Major Crimes Division – Robbery Section are investigating a bank robbery that occurred today at the M &T Bank at 8730 Georgia Avenue in Silver Spring.
At approximately 10:30 a.m. today, 3rd District officers responded to the report of a bank robbery that had just occurred. An unknown male suspect entered the bank and approached the teller with a note demanding money. The suspect implied that he had a gun, but none was seen. After receiving an undisclosed amount of cash, he fled from the bank on foot. No one was injured.
The suspect is described as a black male, 20 to 25 years old, 5’9” to 5’10” tall, weighing between 160 and 170 pounds. He was wearing an olive green raincoat, blue shirt and black tie.

Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Major Crimes Division – Homicide/Sex Section continue to investigate the discovery of a female body that was found Saturday, March 6, 2010, in the Patuxent River State Park in upper Montgomery County, outside of Damascus. The female has been identified, and the death is being investigated as suspicious.

Man Missing from Poolesville Since 2007
Detectives from the Montgomery County Police 5th District Investigative Section have been investigating the disappearance of John James Morris, Jr., since the summer of 2007. Mr. Morris was last confirmed seen on Monday, July 30, 2007, between 3:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m. at his residence in the 24000 block of Whites Ferry Road in Poolesville, Maryland. He was reported missing to police on August 23, 2007.
In 2007 Morris was reported as a critically missing person because he had Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) for which he took medication; and he had exhibited suicidal tendencies in the past. Morris had previously resided in the 4300 block of Massachusetts Avenue in Washington D.C. He has been listed as an endangered missing person in the law enforcement National Crime Institute Computer (NCIC) system since 2007.

Police Seek Identification of
Felony Theft Suspect
Detectives from the Montgomery County Police 1st District Investigative Section are investigating a felony theft and credit card fraud that occurred at the Commissioner’s Office in the Rockville District Courthouse. Detectives have obtained surveillance photos and are releasing them to the community.
On February 25, 2010, at approximately 1:06 p.m., the suspect entered the commissioner’s office in the Rockville District Courthouse and took the victim’s wallet. The suspect then left the courthouse on foot. A short time later, the suspect used the stolen credit cards at the Best Buy and the Giant food stores in the 1200 block of Rockville Pike.
The suspect is described as a black female with a “heavy build,” 30-38 years of age, 5’08” tall with short-cropped black hair. The suspect was wearing black pants, a green shirt, a blue or green lanyard with a white card on it, and a black jacket or sweater.

Police Investigate Gaithersburg Fatal Collision
Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Collision Reconstruction Unit are investigating a fatal collision that occurred in Gaithersburg last night.
On Saturday, March 6, at approximately 4:42 p.m., 6th District officers and Fire/Rescue personnel responded to Mid County Highway and Washington Grove Lane for the report of a personal injury collision involving three vehicles.
The preliminary investigation revealed that a black 1998 Dodge Durango was traveling east on Mid County Highway approaching Washington Grove Lane. For reasons still under investigation, the Durango struck a white 1996 Ford Ranger pick-up truck in the intersection. The Ranger was traveling south on Washington Grove Lane. After the Ranger was struck, it overturned and struck a black 2004 Toyota Corolla which was traveling north on Washington Grove Lane.

Serious Collision in Sandy Spring
Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Collision Reconstruction Unit are investigating a serious personal injury collision that occurred in Sandy Spring last night.
On Saturday, March 6, at approximately 5:31 p.m., 4th District officers and Fire/Rescue personnel responded to 17300 block of Doctor Bird Road for the report of a personal injury collision.
The preliminary investigation revealed that a gray 2005 Ford Shelby GT 3500 was traveling south on Doctor Bird Road. For reasons still under investigation, the Ford collided with a gray 2004 Toyota Camry that was traveling north near 17333 Doctor Bird Road.
The driver of the Ford has been identified as James Stratton, 61 years old, of the 1300 block of Parrs Ridge Drive in Spencerville. He suffered non-life-threatening injuries, remained on the scene, and was treated there.

Human Remains Found in Patuxent River State Park
Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Major Crimes Division – Homicide/Sex Section are investigating the discovery of a body that was found yesterday in the Patuxent River State Park in upper Montgomery County, outside of Damascus.
On Saturday, March 6, at approximately 12:32 pm., a citizen reported finding human remains in the Patuxent River State Park. Maryland State Police, Maryland Natural Resources Police, and officers from the Montgomery County Police 6th District responded to the park on Brown Church Road.
The preliminary investigation revealed a partially decomposed body in a shallow grave in a wooded area near the end of Brown Church Road. Due to the condition of the body, Homicide/Sex Section detectives were assisted by personnel from the Armed Forces Institute of Pathology (AFIP) in their on-site investigation.
