LAW ENFORCEMENT DEPUTY SHERIFF
BI-WEEKLY CADET: $1,372
ANNUAL CERTIFIED: $43,440 - $67,874
The Deputy Sheriff Cadet position is entry-level work, which
provides the opportunity for practical experience and broad exposure in law enforcement
at the Broward County Sheriff's Office while attending a 22-week Police Academy
at the Institute of Public Safety. Upon successful completion of the Police Academy
and state certification exam, certified Deputy Sheriff status is attained.
The Certified Deputy Sheriff position is law enforcement and
public safety work in the protection of life and property through the enforcement
of laws and ordinances in the Broward County Sheriff’s Office. Tasks involve the
intermittent performance of extremely physically demanding work, typically involving
some combination of reaching, bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, running,
climbing, and that may involve the lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling
of extremely heavy objects (150+ pounds). Tasks may involve standing, sitting
or walking for long periods of time.
DETENTION DEPUTY SHERIFF
BI-WEEKLY CADET: $1,332
ANNUAL CERTIFIED: $38,327 - $59,458
The Detention Deputy Cadet position is an entry-level position
that provides the opportunity for practical experience and broad exposure to the
functions of the Department of Detention and Community Control at the Broward
County Sheriff’s Office. Work involves on-the-job training and attending the Corrections
Academy at the Broward Sheriff's Office Institute for Criminal Justice Studies.
Upon successful completion of the Academy and state exam, Certified Detention
Deputy status is attained.
The Certified Detention Deputy position includes the supervision
and control of detainees; enforcement of security rules, regulations and procedures;
and, the provision of services and information to detainees. Tasks involve the
intermittent performance of extremely physically demanding work, typically involving
some combination of reaching, bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, running,
climbing, and that may involve the bending pushing, and/or pulling of extremely heavy objects, such as in the event of chasing and subduing a detainee resisting control.
LATENT PRINT EXAMINER
Salary $44,295 - $65,444
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course
work in Criminal Justice, Forensic Science, Physical Science, or related field.
- Completion of Basic Fingerprint Class or equivalent.

Two (2) years previous experience that provides exposure
to the fingerprint classification and latent print functions in a forensics
environment.
- An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may substitute
for requirements noted. Such education, training and/or experience must be
clearly documented.
SENIOR LATENT PRINT EXAMINER
Salary $51,277 - $75,760
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university with major course
work in Criminal Justice, Forensic Science, Physical Science, or related field.
- Latent Print Examiner Certification issued by the International Association
for Identification (IAI).
- Three (3) years previous experience in skilled application of latent techniques
in examination and classification of print data.
- An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may substitute
for requirements noted. Such education, training and/or experience must be
clearly documented.
PEOPLESOFT TECHNICAL ADMINISTRATOR
Salary $63,513 - $103,457
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Public or
Business Administration, or related field. PeopleSoft Technical Certification
and/or Oracle Database Certification preferred.
- Six (6) years experience in evaluating and applying information technology
solutions to management processes, to include software development and data
collection, establishing and maintaining databases and providing support and
customer service directly to end-users.
- General management skills and understanding of overall enterprise deployment,
business processes, and best practices.
- Experience in PeopleSoft application and all associated modules, configurations
and workflows (i.e. Finance, Human Resources, Purchasing, Logistics, e-applications).
- Experience in technical writing to include documentation of modifications,
upgrades, customizations and standard operating procedures.
- Knowledge and general understanding of Oracle DB/tables, Crystal Reports,
nVision, SQR, and PL-SQL.
- Knowledge of PeopleSoft associated access and security. 8. Any equivalent
combination of education, training, and experience may substitute for noted
requirements. Such experience must be clearly documented for consideration.
