Man wanted for killing trooper commits suicide, possible accomplice apprehended
Brandon Wayne Robertson, 37, the suspect in the fatal shooting of a DPS trooper Tuesday night, was found dead of a self-inflicted gun wound off of CR 1347 near Morris Lake in Cass County. He was discovered around 5 p.m. Thursday.

Trooper funeral arrangements announced
Funeral arrangements have been announced for Trooper James Scott Burns, 39, who was fatally shot on Tuesday, April 29. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the First Baptist Church, 105 E. Graham Street, in Linden.

On March 26-27, during a targeted operation in El Paso County, the DPS Private Security Bureau arrested 10 individuals, including seven from unlicensed locksmith companies and three from unlicensed alarm companies.
Two arrested during operation in Schleicher County
Levi Barlow Jeffs, 6-22-88, arrested April 6 for interfering with the duties of a public servant, class B misdemeanor, and Leroy Johnson Steed, 7-20-66, arrested April 7 for tampering with physical evidence, a third degree felony. Both taken to the Schleicher County Jail.
DPS graduates 166 new troopers
One of the largest training academy classes ever at the Texas Department of Public Safety graduated today at a ceremony in Austin. One hundred and sixty six brand-new troopers will soon report to duty stations across the state.

Governor appoints new chairman, two new commissioners
